Picadillo Cubano

Picadillo Cubano is a simple, but satisfying popular Cuban dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onion minced
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1/2 kilo ground beef
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • salt
  • 1 cup bell pepper minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef, cumin, and oregano. Cook until browned. Season with salt.
  • Add bell peppers and tomato paste. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Add wine and reduce until almost dry.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning, if needed.
  • Remove from heat and mix in Worcestershire sauce.
