This is an update to an earlier post on how to cut a beer bottle. I used an AGPtek Glass Bottle Cutter in my first post on how to cut a beer bottle. You can find the original post HERE. This time, I have used the Kinkajou Bottle Cutter to cut beer bottles and convert them into drinking glasses.

The first step on how to cut a beer bottle is to just get the Kinkajou Bottle Cutter placed on the bottle where you would like that score line to be. Once it is on there, you can drop the blade. You really want to go around once and until you hear that click it means you are done.
The second step on how to cut a beer bottle is to put on the separation ties. They do not need to be very tight. What you want to do is line them up on each side of the score line. If you don’t use the provided separation system, what will happen is the hot water that we are going to use will just crack the bottle everywhere.
It is important that you use boiling water. What will happen if the water is not hot enough? It is not going to stress that scoreline and you will basically go back and forth and it just won’t separate. Boiling water and cold water from the tap does the trick. Once the bottle separates, remove the ties.
The next step is the sanding. Start with the 60 grit. It is just to get rid of the sharp edge. You will want to do this with water so as not to breath the dust produced. If you missed a spot, just do it again. Next is to sand with the 400 grit. It will be a lot quicker now. The last step is to sand with the 2000 grit. This is just for final clean-up.
Once you are done sanding, you will now have a nice looking drinking glass.
It takes a lot of practice to score a bottle with the Kinkajou Bottle Cutter. I had so many fails getting the perfect score line. But once I got the feel of it, everything went smoothly. In my opinion, the Kinkajou Bottle Cutter does a better job of scoring the bottle compared to the AGPtek Glass Bottle Cutter. However, let this be a warning, be ready for a lot of fails in scoring your first few bottles.
