Shawarma Rice

Ingredients

steamed rice, to serve

  • 1 kilo sirloin beef sliced thinly
  • 1 pc cucumber diced
  • 4 pcs tomatoes sliced and seeded
  • 3 pcs white onion sliced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup yogurt plain
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • steamed rice to serve

Instructions

  • Combine cumin, turmeric, salt, pepper, and yogurt in a bowl. Add beef and toss to combine.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté beef, then add marinade and simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce is reduced by half.
  • Get rice ready in a serving bowl.
  • Top with cucumber, tomatoes, and onions.
  • Arrange beef on top of vegetables.
  • Drizzle with remaining sauce.
  • Serve immediately.
