Transcend DrivePro 220
This is probably the best selling model from Transcend. That is the impression I get because most of the videos I see online come from a Transcend DrivePro 220 and I can see why. It does not have the same color and contrast as the other Transcends but it is really clear. It is really bright everything it’s so that’s a 130 degree angle of you which is par for the course and it’s got a ton of features in here like forward collision warning system, you got your lane departure warning system, GPS receiver that logs your driving records and it is really important because you could actually put it uo in the drive pro toolbox in your PC and then you can see the driving paths of your entire journey along with such information like GPS coordinates, speeds, time and date this is so important if you ever need to claim from your insurance. It will show you your whole journey. Or you have a family driver that you’re not quite sure if he was telling the truth or where he went, its all there so it’s really a black box for your car. night time visual it’s a lot better than all the other cams and its got more of that sort of infrared security feel about it but not action cam quality. What is important i sthat you could reaaly read the Details. you can read plate numbers. you can sort of see the scene very clearly. you could not read plate numbers with some other Cams so this one’s pretty good. you get WiFi as well as an uninterrupted battery supply such that in case of an accident and you lose power to the car, for 30 seconds it will keep recording.

Main Features
Lens
Featuring a large ƒ/1.8 aperture and high-quality camera lens, the DrivePro 220 can automatically adjust to different lighting conditions to capture all details of an incident, including license plates, at any time of day. The camera also integrates a wide 130° viewing angle and a Full HD imaging sensor for clear 1080P (30fps) recordings.
GPS
DrivePro 220’s GPS receiver can log GPS coordinates, date, and time into recorded video footage. During an incident, GPS coordinates can help you precisely locate where you are so as to contact emergency road services, police, or an insurance company. When used with Transcend’s DrivePro Toolbox on a PC, you can see the driving paths of your entire journey along with such information as GPS coordinates, speeds, date, and time.
Lane Departure Warning System
The Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) is designed to prevent accidents by warning the driver when the vehicle begins to shift out of a lane. The system monitors the lane markings on the roadway, and displays an onscreen alert while making a warning sound whenever car’s speed exceeds a preset value and when the vehicle deviates from its lane.
Forward Collision Warning System
Maintaining a safe following distance is important. The DrivePro 220’s Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS) will warn the driver when the driving speed exceeds a preset value or when the vehicle is getting too close to the car ahead. The system will in either case alert the driver with a warning sound and onscreen alert. The DrivePro 220 also features Speed Alarm, which will issue a warning sound when the driving speed exceeds a preset value.
Parking Mode
With the latest motion detection technology, the DrivePro 220 will start recording when the sensor detects motion in Parking Mode. Parking Mode will draw off of DrivePro 220’s battery.
Built-in Battery
With a built-in Li-Polymer battery, there’s no need to worry about a sudden power failure caused by a traffic accident. Should a car lose power, the DrivePro 220 will continue to record for up to 30 seconds to ensure that important evidence is captured. This feature can be manually activated and a recording of up to 30 minutes can be made on a fully charged battery.
Wi-Fi
With built-in Wi-Fi and supported by the free-to-download DrivePro App for Apple and Android devices, the DrivePro 220 can be operated by a passenger as the driver focuses on the task of driving. When connected to the DrivePro 220’s dedicated wireless network, you can view live video footage while recording, playback and download videos, and adjust DrivePro 220 settings directly from your smartphone or tablet.
The Transcends DrivePro 220 is a user-friendly dash cam packed with features that are guaranteed to keep drivers safe on the road at an affordable mid-range price tag. The daytime video quality is expected from a camera at this price range, but the Transcend DrivePro 220 is impressive with its low light/nighttime video, with resolution and detailing that fares better than dash cams under the same category. The camera offers a simple set up, intuitive interface and delivers reliable video footage, especially during low light and nighttime driving. Being a mid-range priced product, there’s not much anyone can complain about.
